Our Founder! Clinical and Program Director

Tonina is a pediatric occupational therapist with over 28 years of experience supporting children and families across clinical, school, and home settings. She is nationally recognized for her expertise in sensory integration, child development, and therapeutic use of play. Tonina founded MPOWERME to create a compassionate, multidisciplinary space where children of all abilities can thrive. Tonina, holds a master’s degree in Occupational Therapy and a bachelor’s degree in Biology. In her career’s journey, she has founded/directed a multidisciplinary, pediatric rehab clinic and a private school for students with special needs in Orlando, FL, has been part of a rehabilitation medicine department’s management team at a top-rated hospital in Manhattan, and directed research and impact studies aimed to uncover the potential developmental benefits of specific toys and games. Tonina uses medical modalities, toys, games, play routines, and activities of daily living to foster children’s growth through play and engagement. Tonina continues to treat children and work with families while also building educational programming for parents, educators, and professionals. She loves discovering, sharing, and collaborating with her community to maximize growth, learning, and creativity in children of all ages and skill levels.
